Leopold Bichler and his herbs

When entering Apotheke zur Triumphpforte, you’ll see that our antique apothecary cabinet with its many drawers, each neatly labelled, takes pride of place. Captivating as this cabinet is, for us it is a living symbol of our enduring, century-long passion for herbal medicine. Our great-great-grandfather and trained pharmacist, Leopold Bichler, used the cabinet as a home for his herbs helping him to cultivate a vast amount of knowledge in traditional herbal medicine. ‘Leopold’s Spezialkräuter’ is in honour to him and our proud heritage in the healing power of herbs.

Our abundant medicinal surroundings here in Tirol harnessed Leopold Bichler’s curiosity in curating the natural potency of herbal medicine. Growing on our doorstep are the potent herbs peppermint, dandelion, and St John’s which are processed by us and form part of the assortment of our time-tested tea blends. With varying active ingredients, our blends can alleviate a variety of complaints. Simply visit us for a consultation and we’ll create a soothing tea for your needs.

For over a hundred thousand years, humans have known about the medicinal power of herbs. As custodians of this tradition, we search for the highest quality ingredients and have curated an assortment of over 300 medicinal herbs here at Apotheke zur Triumphpforte.
